The Subdudes

This was a very talented group of performers. I'm actually only 6 beers/whiskey's into the night, but I'm having hard time concentrating. Nevertheless, this band did not use a drummer but were very effective with melodic syncopation. Lead+rhythm+bass+accordion+percussion -- mostly amplified acoustic instruments with an electric bass. They had very good vocal arrangements. I'm pretty sure they sang mostly about pussy.

This is a very professional act with an authentic New Orleans gator fighting presence. The room was cabaret, which didn't do them any favors. And quite honestly it was Cougartown in Turner Hall tonight. But I had a good time. That was a solid B+ performance. The would have earned an A if they hadn't gone cabaret. They reminded me of an acoustic version of the Radiators...only when the Radiators sing about pussy they are more explicit and proud. To me, that's a little more honest.
